Congratulations Sonic

Sonic is grown up, turns 20 in 2011 and Sega is sparing no efforts to celebrate the birthday of their mascot. Sonic Generations is almost here and there are plenty of compilations where we can play the older titles of the blue hedgehog.

However I still think that is lacking a collection commemorating the 20th anniversary of Sonic, with all the classics to the consoles of this generation. Are still on sale the Sonic Mega Collection Plus and Sonic Gems for the PS2, baratinhos for € 10, but for me they are not perfect. Problems? Yes, there are versions that run at 50Hz PAL : ( You could say that is a reliable experience, yes, go wrong, just like the originals ran in our Mega Drive, but after playing a Sonic 1, 2 or 3 on a console at 60Hz NTSC you'll see what speed.

The Sega Mega Drive Ultimate Collection for PS3 and X360 has the Sonics to 60Hz, but lack the acclaimed Sonic CD versions and Lock-On Sonic & Knucles ... with a DLC had resolved the matter, but Sega decided to get side.

So if someone from Sega 8BR go through, here's a list of games I like to have a collection of Sonic's birthday:

  • Sonic The Hedgehog
  • Sonic The Hedgehog 2
  • Sonic The Hedgehog 3
  • Sonic & Knucles
  • Knuckles in Sonic 2
  • Sonic 3 & Knuckles
  • Sonic CD
  • SegaSonic The Hedgehog (Sonic the Arcades yes)
  • Sonic 3D: Flickies' Island

As a bonus for the Sonics can the GameGear, Master System and Neo Geo Pocket. All running at 60Hz, without borders or slowdowns. Do this and I'll be grateful the rest of life :)

I know this will be very difficult to become a reality, so they can send me one of these spectacular statues that created for the 20th anniversary I perdouo you ;)

Sonic Generations - New Images

Sega continues to show more pictures and videos of the next Sonic Generations. So far does not disappoint :)

You can see more pictures in Flickr set of the Sega of America!

Shinobi Returns!

Remember Shinobi? The first adventure of Joe Musashi is one of the most famous titles from Sega Master System and arcade in the 80s. Guess what? Sega now has a prequel to the original Shinobi for the Nintendo 3D, telling the story of Jiro Musashi's father, Joe.

The gameplay is the usual with some improvements contained in a system of combos and melee attacks or distance. It is best to see that the trailer for this adventure 2.5D.

Shinobi comes out in September for the Nintendo 3DS!

Sonic Generations

There is nothing new that Sega has done evil enough to your pet. In recent times, most Sonic games have been of average quality, largely by two factors: a poor transition from 2D to 3D format and the abandonment of the original gameplay that gave fame to the Sonic games on the Mega Drive. Sega tried to redeem himself with Sonic 4 Episode 1 and failed again , but seems to have learned from their mistakes.

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of Sonic, Sega announced a few months ago a new title, revolutionary they said, that would please the fans of Sonic of all generations. The teaser trailer shows Sonic the current generation, tall, lean and green eyes side by side with his alter ego classic, lower fat and dark eyes. The Sonic Mega Drive, 2D, Sonic we are used. There followed a few more videos of the game, promising the return of classic gameplay, but as always, stood behind me not to disappoint and waited to see more ...

Today my friends, not purposely, had a birthday gift from Sega. The first real gameplay videos were shown and could not be better. The gameplay of "Sonics" this generation is there, improved, but the icing on the cake is the classic gameplay that is finally adapted to the current generation of consoles. Finally managed to bring Sega Sonic 3D conditions. Watch the videos below and pick up your jaw off the floor. I'm already counting down to go to this Sonic Generations.

Sega takes my money! You did it!

Sega Vintage Collection Monster World IV back to the West

Sega announced today that the next edition of Sega Vintage Collection for the Wii Virtual Console and PSN, coming out in late 2011, early 2012, will bring more classic brand for the current generation of consoles.

Confirmed:

  • Monster World IV (Genesis / Mega Drive)
  • Wonder Boy in Monster Land (Arcade)
  • Revenge of Shinobi (Genesis / Mega Drive)
  • Alex Kidd in Miracle World (Master System)
  • Wonder Boy in Monster World (Genesis / Mega Drive)

The big news this Vintage Collection is the location of Monster World IV for English, since until now could only find this title in Japanese!

Monster World IV is considered by fans as the best game of the complex saga of MW.

Games Dreamcast Collection Confirmed

It is confirmed that the Sega Dreamcast Collection will have only four games. It is sad to see that Sega no longer includes a games console with a legacy as special as the Dreamcast.

The cover up is the original game, but four games is very little and is not the best choice.

Is this one of the most famous Sega's bad decisions or just a test market?

Sonic 2 HD - A Remake of another World!

Sonic 2 is considered by many one of the best titles in the series, gameplay from the design levels, from the first appearance of Tails. A group of programmers, not related to Sega, since 2008 is to develop an HD remake of this title, in collaboration with the community Sonic Retro , the largest community of Sonic fans on the web.

Sonic 2 HD is in almost all identical to the original, having been re-created all the graphics in high resolution and a "skyscraper" of music. Today the team of Sonic 2 HD got a tip of the veil and promise an alpha version for PC until April this year. I leave you with the teaser trailer and screen shots of this spectacular remake.
