The Great Revolution of LittleBigPlanet

Finally I managed to play one of the games that have since talking lately: LittleBigPlanet for PlayStation 3.

If there are two words that are able to describe this game they are freedom and creativity. LittleBigPlanet is a game on their core platforms, those old-fashioned in that we have to jump and grab onto objects to get further, collecting items and escape from enemies who want to make life difficult for our hero ... Sackboy Sackgirl or if they we want because we can customize it from the hair, clothes, eyes, like a rag doll they were real.

In the course of the game, we gain more objects, among which are pieces of clothing, helmets, hats, etc ... In the PlayStation Store are also available for download, outfits, some paid, some for free. When I bought the game in the game , I was offered a voucher to the store allowed to download a fact of Kratos God Of War for Sackboy.

The beauty of this game is in part, in the details. Physics applied to objects is quite amazing. It depends on the shape of objects, materials, positions, finally, it is like to interact with real objects. Of course we also have in-game objects created from materials that do not exist, floating as if weightless, etc ...

Story mode allows you to play in various levels and go discovering several objects, we can use to decorate the worlds through which we pass, we can put stickers, plant leaves and other objects anywhere in the level. Alone or with a friend can join and play the various levels of Story mode that should be added, as well as find various objects and materials that we use to another game mode.

After the first 3 levels of Story mode are complete, although we are far from the finish, they are 20 or so levels, LittleBigPlanet reveals its true potential, how to create levels. It is here that we can give free rein to our imagination and create entire levels (and huge) with the materials we collect in Story mode. We can build castles on top of giant skateboards, foam and cardboard monsters that explode under certain actions ... well, the limit is the imagination of each one.

After we create the levels we can share them with other players via the PlayStation Network and, of course, can also download levels created by other players. As we enter this kind of community, we can add other players as friends, we can classify the creations of others and also see our classified, creating a kind of social network within the game.

LittleBigPlanet may seem at first sight a childish game, but is far from it. When you start playing, it becomes evident that there is some complexity in the game, especially in raising levels, however it is also here that the game becomes addictive and want to complete all the levels to 100% to have more for objects to levels we have created.



The LBP has a version entirely in Portuguese in which the narration is done by Nuno Markl ... which can lead many to choose to listen to Stephen Fry . : D

In short, LittleBigPlanet is probably the game of the year for PS3. Its originality renews a style reminiscent of retrogaming and takes it further with innovative features such as creating and sharing levels within a community.

LittleBigPlanet: PlayStation Miis?

It went out this week in the European territory, but it walks a topic of conversation for some time. LittleBigPlanet , the new title from Media Molecule to the PlayStation 3, has as its main character Sackboy, or if you will, Sackpersons, the rag doll friendly come up in the image. LBP can not be regarded as just a game, since it is also possible to play, create your own levels, characters and customize share our creations with other players within the community . We can say that is a "Social Platformer" ;)

I will not here review the game, has not played since. He was made a Beta program but wanted to try the Beta not to spoil the experience of playing the final version and so I keep my expectations until the end : D

But curiosity has been great and I was lurking a few videos that explain part of the gameplay and customization of characters. The degree of customization of LBP is so extensive that joined the Wii's Miis and Avatars in New Xbox Experience . I think Sony can get away with Little Big Planet to act in the following ways: the first would be taken as official mascot Sackboy PlayStation. The character is cute, recognizable after knowing the game and very dynamic.

The second would be to buy Media Molecule, ensuring more titles inspired by the LBP to expand or at least this version via content transferable.

The third would be to create a LBP reduced so as to integrate with the PS3 interface, thus competing with the Miis and Avatars of their competitors. How about Sony?
