Defeat the Empire Bydo ... again.
If there was one genre that the retrogaming was accustomed us to shoot-em-ups of ships. Since Gradius and R-Type, there were many games in which humanity's survival depended on a brave pilot in his ship against the lowercase many races of aliens of galaxies far far away. For very bad and cliche that history was in most cases, what mattered was to spend the same levels and earn new weapons to defeat all the enemies, a simple and effective formula to ensure our enjoyment.

The saga of R-Type, composed of eight shoot-em-up's, is now gaining a new title, which fled to the tradition of his predecessors. R-Type Tactics R-Type Command, or as is known in the U.S., is a game of turn-based strategy for the PSP.
As in previous R-Types controlavamos an R-9 (and other models in R-Type Final), this R-Type control the fleet of humans (and later Bydo
) Where we have several vehicles at our disposal, many of them already known to fans of the series, especially if unlocked hundreds of ships present the R-Type Final for PS2 (which I would strongly recommend to buy if they like the genre).
The objective remains the same, defeat the evil empire Bydo and save humanity, but this time using more intelligence than reflexes.
The contest area is usually within or in facilities gigantecas orbiting moons and planets, divided by small hexagons that serve to indicate possible location of spaces game drives. like a tray.
As I mentioned, the action is turn-based, where we can move our units, attack the enemy, gather resources to build new units and invoke some actions characteristics of each unit in order to gain advantage over the other side. Between each action of our units, you can watch a brief scene of battle in 3D.
Other aspects to be considered in the gameplay are the characteristics of the land we can use to our advantage, to hide or defend units or even trap an enemy weapons and some special units in q may have advantages when used at the right time, many of them are not always available, like the Charge Beam units of R-9 who have incredible powers of destruction.

In addition to strategy, R-Type Tactics has a bit of RPG as it is possible to go in-keeping units over time, implying an evolution of the potential of ships and pilots.
R-Type Tactics in part tells the story of the universe of R-Type, thus to know more about Bydo and the origins of this evil empire.
For those hoping for a "true" R-Type for PSP Tactics can be a disappointment, but for true fans, a more detailed foray into the world of R-Type can bring some additional points to this title.
