Alien Breed Evolution

If the game was greatly affected Amiga gamers around the world was undoubtedly Alien Breed, Team17's a terrifying shooter and one of the most successful titles in the 90's.

Alien Breed led us to very high levels of stress with its dark atmosphere and hordes of aliens want us to see a pool of blood.

Team 17 is now announcing the Alien Breed Evolution, a new title in the series, to be distributed digitally initially for the 360 (which will have a temporary exclusive) and later on PSN and PC. The differences are clear as you can see the video, but the atmosphere and gameplay seem to be intact, which may ensure the success of this new Alien Breed series with the fans and those who have not yet been presented to one of the best retro shooters in history of video games.

Bionic Commando Rearmed

Bionic Commando Rearmed

A master of the rolls Capcom in recent times has been re-animate some of its most successful franchises of 90 years. This year we had a new Street Fighter, whose fighters have come almost directly from Street Fighter II, but since last year, Capcom had released three remakes of retro titles: Commando, Bionic Commando and 1942.

Capas Bionic Commando

The original version of Bionic Commando came out in 1988 for the arcades and was sized for major gaming platforms Height: Spectrum, Amiga, Atari, etc.. but the version that would have more success was undoubtedly the NES version in Japan known as "Top Secret: Hitler's Revival."

Bionic Commando Rearmed

Bionic Commando for the NES was different from the arcade version, the basic gameplay was the same, we had our hero with an extendable arm, but while the first BC was a game of pure action and platforming, the NES version included some innovative elements as a story, character set and rooms filled with puzzles that allowed the player to go to discover more about the game's storyline. Another of the characteristics that marked the NES version was the soundtrack, which for the time shown is innovative and acclaimed for its militaristic nature appropriate to the game.

There were all these characteristics that led the Bionic Commando to become a cult game for those who had an NES and it was precisely this cult exists today that Capcom decided to create a remake of this release.

Bionic Commando Rearmed is a remake 100% faithful to its source. By this I mean that those who played the original on the NES will definitely feel at home. The game structure is very similar to the original, even the control of the character continues with the same flaws that provide a certain difficulty.

BCR

Nathan Spencer, the hero of the game's mission is to infiltrate enemy installations and rescue Super Joe, a special command sent before Nathan.

During his mission has only his bionic arm and weapons you find. To help in his mission, Nathan also has a helicopter ride between levels, that sometimes will lead to clashes with perprectiva a "top down" style Commando and Mercs.

BCR

Some elements of the game have been updated for today. The puzzles in the original version served to make wiretapping led to hacking sessions to infiltrate the enemy's computer network :) Guns are in more VARIETY and its effects vary from enemy to enemy.

Outside the game mechanics we also find some news. There are several multiplayer modes, one co-operative two players and the difficulty that makes the game different. There are also several "Challenge Rooms" and online leaderboards so we can compare the times we do on many levels.

BCR

Bionic Commando Rearmed is a game made by fans for fans. Note the care and devotion with which this game was made, especially for those who know the original. For those who never heard of Bionic Commando, this is an excellent game in the universe to start the series and yes, I say series because this week I went Bionic Commando for PS3 and XBOX 360, the sequel to Bionic Commando Rearmed that continues to history.

In the official game site we read a comic - Bionic Commando: Chain of Command - which explains what happened between the two games and sets the tone for the new title from Capcom.

Bionic Commando Rearmed is available for PS3, XBOX 360 and PC, while the version for PS3 on sale today. An excellent remake of a great classic retro gaming!
