Toki (or JuJu Densetsu in Japan) is a shooter / platformer that appeared in arcades in 1989 and like most of the titles of the time, was converted to the major gaming platforms. The story was already a cliché beat and kidnap the princess by the evil rival Toki, who is in the process turned into a monkey spitting. Toki will then have to go through several different levels eliminating your enemies with this power (?) That can be increased as find some power-ups, making the game but against a kind of monkey 
The good news for fans of Toki (as I thought I played it on Amiga again and again) is that the Golgoth Studio is doing a remake of the game in HD, with completely redesigned graphics and although they have not yet been announced platforms, game is waiting for approval for Windows and XBox Live. From what I see the gameplay of the original has been maintained and the graphics are superb, keeping the spirit of the original.
