The Magic of Remakes

When it comes to retrogaming, most people associate with pixelated graphics, up to 4 colors, melodies with beeps and boops and occasional evidence of the practice. This is not wrong, but as for me is incomplete.

The retrogaming includes not only games with a certain "age", but also something that has been known to give new generations the great titles of the golden age of video games: the remakes.

Bionic Commando NES vs Bionic Commando Rearmed

There are several types of remakes, from the simplest to just emulate old games on current platforms, to the more elaborate titles that completely transformed in games that can even be considered "current".
HD graphics, soundtracks completely redone, online multiplayer, there are many improvements that make the classics reborn and return to be worth playing again or discover for the first time.

With the current generation of consoles, we have been observing the growth of the phenomenon retrogaming. The Wii devotes a fundamental part of its architecture to a virtual console that emulates many of the very old Nintendo consoles and even former rivals, such as the Sega Mega Drive, but we can find in Wii Ware titles, remakes and games inspired by classic.

Consoles like the PS3 and Xbox 360 also has its handful of remakes and compilations of retro games, names like Sega and Capcom themselves monetize its vast portfolio of classic and adapted for both platforms.

As a fan of retrogaming assumed, I have been enjoying the various remakes that appear. One of the advantages that the old games had at least "back in the old days," was that the graphics required the player to imagine how would those worlds, ie, when we play a game like Super Mario Bros. Often imagined As was the face of Mario, the enemies, etc ... today with the perfection that current architectures allow, is given in the true image desired by the designers, we saw the characters, the game world and reality, as stated by the person who creates . In part the remakes serve only to find (or not) how we were / are in tune with the game and the world around us is made known.

I remember when he left the Super Mario All Stars for the SNES, a compilation that includes the remake of Super Mario Bros.. 1.2 with improved graphics and 3, Super Mario World. The wealth that these remakes brought was so great that they were later adapted versions for the Game Boy Advance. The colors, the scenes, the characters, everything has been improved and made a monumental difference even when talking about a jump of only one generation (NES> SNES).
Today we have remakes copies mandatory for all lovers retrogaming: R-Type Dimensions, Ultimate Ghosts n 'Goblins, Bionic Commando Rearmed, Bubble Bobble Plus!, Adventure Island: The Beginning, well ... follow the 8BR I'm talking about them here.

Do not exclude a game just because it "is old" or because "since my brother played it," convert to the magic of remakes and will find that the classics still have much to give!
